OAXACA, Oax. August 29, 2019.- From August 26 to 30, 2019, the southern Pacific Coastal region’s main destinations of Huatulco and Puerto Escondido participated in the Pacific Promotional Caravan held in Canada, to promote the destination’s offerings for the international market.  In this promotional caravan, the Ministry of Tourism of the Oaxaca State Government (Sectur Oaxaca) worked with tourism service providers and with the Association of Hotels and Motels of Bahías de Huatulco, the Oaxaca government said in a statement. Within the framework of this promotional trip, various activities publicized the tourism offer such as  seminars and meetings with tour operators, where the arrival of around 300 Canadian agents was expected.

The state of Oaxaca in Canada seeks to strengthen this consolidated market for sun and beach destinations that generate  important economic income for the Coastal region, mainly in the winter season. This promotional effort is called Caravan of the Pacific since various destinations of the Mexican Pacific, such as Oaxaca, carry out the promotion to the tourism sector of the cities of Calgary, Victoria, Edmonton and Vancouver, in Canada.  In addition, business partners of Aeromexico, WestJet, Sunwing Airlines and Air Transat airlines are also exhibitors.
